My Sessions
Clients fill out a health intake questionnaire to ensure a safe therapeutic session and address possible contraindications. During the initial intake I encourage and welcome your feedback, so you will feel totally relaxed and comfortable about your session. To help facilitate the clients’ own healing process, various techniques are used , which focus on their specific needs at that present moment. Again, active participation with clients’ feedback is great. This allows me to make appropriate adjustments throughout the session, so you can enjoy your session to the fullest. At completion of the clients’ session, we can discuss how you feel, the results, and update your intake form with any new findings and comments. Educational handouts, self-care techniques, and resources are provide to use at home, work, or play, to further enhance your results from the session.
Massage Techniques offered
- Swedish Massage – used primarily for full-body sessions that work the more superficial layers of the muscles, applying light to firm pressure, combined with active and passive movements of the joints.
- Deep Tissue – releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas (shorten muscles), either following or going across the grain of muscles, their fascia (connective tissue coverings) and tendons.
- Trigger Point Therapy – applies concentrated finger pressure to “trigger points” (tender irritated areas in muscles) to break cycles of spasm and pain.
Bodywork Specialties
- Foot Reflexology - based on the theory that reflex points in the ears, hands, and feet correspond by way of the nervous system (pathways) to every part, organ, and gland of the body. Eastern Medicine views the pathways as energy channels called meridians. Cystalline type deposits and/or tenderness indicate a dysfunction and systematic pressure is applied to clean out congestion and restore normal functioning and health.
